Royal St. Kitts Hotel is seeking a skilled and versatile Finished Carpenter / Tiler to join our Maintenance team and contribute to the upkeep, repair and presentation of guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces.
Located in the heart of Frigate Bay, our hotel offers guests a comfortable and well-maintained environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete finish carpentry, repairs and installations.
- Install and repair doors, frames, trim, cabinets, shelving and other woodwork.
- Measure, cut, fit and install materials accurately.
- Prepare surfaces and install ceramic, porcelain and other tiles.
- Complete tile repairs, replacements and grouting.
- Maintain quality, alignment and professional finishes.
- Keep tools and work areas clean and organised.
- Complete assigned work orders and report additional maintenance concerns.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least five years of experience in carpentry and tiling.
- Strong practical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to measure, cut, fit and install materials accurately.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A reliable, responsible and safety-conscious approach.
- Technical or vocational training would be an asset.
Physical and Working Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry and move materials, tools and equipment.
- Ability to work at heights using ladders or other approved equipment.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to work around dust, adhesives, grout, sealants and other construction materials while using appropriate protective equipment.
Schedule and Transportation
Applicants must be comfortable working flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays, as operationally required.
